Woman's Building
in Los Angeles
Founded as an act of protest, The Woman's Building is a cornerstone in late-twentieth-century lesbian and feminist culture.This project began with the question of what Woman's Building might have been like if it had lasted to the present day. This initiative aimed to rekindle the spirit of the Woman's Building in LA.

Inspiration
My work focused on the interpretation of the Woman’s Building’s call for creating a space where women can support one another and overcome marginalization, expressed via the image of a “bridge”. The inspiration for this was the fact that the Woman’s Building had constructed a bridge to help female artists in Los Angeles integrate into society. In the logomark, the letter "W" represents onward movement. The color scheme was influenced by the pink used in the Woman's Building publication and given more vitality by the addition of brilliant red.
